Perfect Summer Tablescape

Summer Tablescape

Does it feel like summer in your neck of the woods? I’m not gonna lie to you – up here in the far north, it snowed last weekend…  But just as quickly as it came, the snow melted away. The sun is now shining and summer is in full swing (hopefully…lol)! Now that summer is here, I partnered with Wayfair Canada to show off my fresh tablescape.

As soon as summer hits you can find my family dining Al Fresco. The warm weather season here really is waaaay too short. We get maximum 4 good months, if we’re lucky! So we have to take advantage of it every second we can. We play outside, read outside, eat outside – basically live outside.

I love industrial design and I find myself trying to bring that industrial style into everything I do these days. Planning my perfect summer tablescape for a dinner party included. I LOVE how this outdoor dining table picks up my industrial vibe. The black glass top and the metal base. It’s a modern and affordable piece that can mesh with any style. Wayfair has so many outdoor dining sets (including a ton with great metal frames!), it is so easy to find something that fits your style.

I’ve used accessories to add a cool industrial feel to my warm summer table. Including my DIY concrete candle holders (tutorial coming soon!), and the ever popular metallic lantern.

On this table, I kept the dinnerware simple so that it wouldn’t compete too much with the centrepiece. Classic white plates and silver cutlery. You can add character with a coloured or textured glass they way I did. The more texture the better!

Even though you’re surrounded by nature it’s always great to add greenery to a tabletop. I always chop a few sprigs off whatever is blooming at the time – in this case, beautiful purple lilacs! If you don’t have enough in bloom, or you want some new colours, think about adding faux greens as well. Less mess and less expensive than the store-bought greenery – plus you can use them again and again. This makes my black thumb happy.

So who’s coming for dinner?! I’ve got the table all set up!
