This is our holiday living room. If you saw our Christmas kitchen tour, then you’ll know that I’ve decided to keep it simple this year. I think minimal can be really beautiful, and I’m excited to show you what it means for us.
Our barn-shaped home has a very tall hip roof ceiling, so I was thrilled when we bought this huge tree last year to help fill up the space!
I stayed true to my nature loving colour palette this year and used primarily green, brown, black and white to decorate everything – including the tree!
If that JOY ornament caught your eye (I know it did!), you can see how I made that guy, plus three more dollar store holiday ornaments in this video!
We added some personalized decor to the mix this year, which made me surprisingly happy! lol. The faux fur stockings have subtle embroidery of our names, that you can see here, and I love them!
I added a blanket ladder to the mix this season. It took a long time to find one that I loved, but I finally found a minimal ladder to fit my style.
And if you’re staring at that Ho Ho Ho pillow and falling in love, you can get one at the Lemon Thistle shop!
The Pa Rum Pum Pum sign is one of my favourite additions this year! I love the modern simplicity of it. And I dare you to not sing that song in your head right now, lol.
Greenery – real or faux – makes such a beautiful addition to a home any time of year. I picked up that faux pine garland and those faux wreaths on the back door and I know I’ll use them over and over again each year!
I really kept things as simple as I could this year, aside from the excessiveness of having two Christmas trees on the same floor, lol. You really do need a tree to look at in each room, don’t you?? lol.
I think my husband misses his traditional red and green Christmas, so I may have to mix it up again next year and add some colours back in, but this year… this year I’m loving every minute of my monochrome holiday home.
Today I’m joined by some talented friends who are also sharing part of their Christmas home tour with you…
And the sharing is happening all week long!
