Well… It’s December 2nd. Did everyone decorate their homes yesterday?! My husband used to make me wait until December to decorate and you better believe that out house looked like a totally different place come December 1st! This year I wanted to use a lot of natural elements in my decor, while incorporating all of the traditional reds, whites, and greens. I’ll be sharing my entire home tour next week, but I’ll get you in the mood by showing off my Cozy & Rustic Christmas Mantel today!

Our fireplace has beautiful floor to ceiling stone work and is a major focal point of the room! Like many homeowners, our TV sits right on top of the mantel (which can’t really be moved!), so every year I need to come up with simple ways to decorate around it. This year, I went really simple. As in two-lanterns-and-a-garland simple.
There’s the full view for you! What do you think? Loving it already? Let me show you more! lol.
I loved these lanterns as soon as I found them and knew I wanted to put them on either side of the TV.
Then I draped the entire fireplace mantel with this beautiful garland! I LOVE the different leaves, the pinecones and especially the different textures! It adds so much visual interest.
When it came to the stockings, I needed something new, and I knew just where to look. Wayfair has a HUGE selection of beautiful holiday pieces! I bought these stockings a few weeks ago and was itching to get them up on the mantel right away.
Decorating the mantel doesn’t stop at the mantel. I also like to fill the surrounding floor with child-friendly decor.
I made the tall sign myself and I’m SO in love with it. It adds the perfect height to the space, and bonus – it has proven to withstand toddler treatment.
Let me know what you think of our mantel! I’d love to hear!
Make your own Joyful Wood Sign!
Looks great! My favourite thing has to be that JOYFUL sign. So fun!
Looks really pretty Lindi. My husband was the same way. He didn’t want to see any Christmas decor till December 1st. This year I finally convinced him but we have been so busy I’m still decorating.
So festive!! Love it!!
This space is so cozy and I love your simple decor!
Thank you! Simple is best when you have two little people :)
Joyous pictures of your home for the holiday!
Maria
Thank you Maria :)
Pinning because I love everything about it, even how your TV is flush with the stone. Finding quality full garland has been hard for me but I love yours.
Thank you! The garland is my FAVOURITE!!! I love the textures!
Lindi,
Your mantle is lovely! The colors and style are perfection and your gift wrap is stunning! Pinning!
Wow! Love the simplicity of it, turned out stunning. Do you have a tutorial for the wood sign? I think that may be my favorite part ofof the mantle.
It’s definitely my favourite part too! I will be sharing the tutorial in the coming weeks hopefully! If you signed up for the e-mails you should see the post soon – or you can just check back in :)
So pretty Lindi!! My husband lets me decorate the day after Thanksgiving :) That Joyful sign is definitely my favorite part!
Our thanksgiving is mid-October… my husband would probably be mad about that, lol. Thank you my friend!
Beautiful! Everything I’ve come to expect from your decor – natural, rustic and somewhat industrial. Perfect!
Thank you! Such high praise! lol. Thanks for stopping by :)
So pretty and festive, Lindi! Love that sign!
That sign is everything. I adore it. I can’t wait to share the tutorial!
Love it! Especially those big lanterns.
It looks beautiful! I LOVE that “joyful” sign!
Love this! Makes me want to curl up in front of the fire place with a cup of hot chocolate! xo
Everything is so beautiful! What color is your walls painted?
I absolutely love that Joyful sign! This is the perfect cozy mantle for Christmas.
where’d you purchase your fireplace screen? I love it!
We actually bought it from a store here called Princess Auto. It’s been perfect for keeping the toddlers a safe distance from the fire :)
I really love your mantle decoration . I have a very silimar mantle but it’s covered with a TV stand and TV because I have nowhere else to place my TV :( I would absolutely do the same decoration only if I could mount the TV above the fireplace. Great job!
I LOVE the fireplace and mantle with the stone all the way to the ceiling! That looks like an electric fireplace since I don’t see a chimney….did you purchase the fireplace with that stone around it and add to it to continue it to the ceiling? I would love to do something similar with my house so any details or tips would be really helpful!
Thank you so much! That fireplace was already in place when we bought that home, so I can’t tell you what they did, but it was a gas fireplace and the cultured stone was added around it. It extended out from the house on the outside. Hope that helps a bit!
Love this look! I have the same fireplace stone and mantel but mine has never looked this great. How did you attach the garland and the stockings to the stone mantel?
We attached everything with command strips on the top of the mantle! They make strong ones that you can remove after Christmas!
