Cozy & Rustic Christmas Mantel

A beautiful rustic fireplace mantel for Christmas! Love the floor to ceiling brick and all of the natural decorations!

Well… It’s December 2nd. Did everyone decorate their homes yesterday?! My husband used to make me wait until December to decorate and you better believe that out house looked like a totally different place come December 1st! This year I wanted to use a lot of natural elements in my decor, while incorporating all of the traditional reds, whites, and greens. I’ll be sharing my entire home tour next week, but I’ll get you in the mood by showing off my Cozy & Rustic Christmas Mantel today!

Our fireplace has beautiful floor to ceiling stone work and is a major focal point of the room! Like many homeowners, our TV sits right on top of the mantel (which can’t really be moved!), so every year I need to come up with simple ways to decorate around it. This year, I went really simple. As in two-lanterns-and-a-garland simple.

I loved these lanterns as soon as I found them and knew I wanted to put them on either side of the TV.

Then I draped the entire fireplace mantel with this beautiful garland! I LOVE the different leaves, the pinecones and especially the different textures! It adds so much visual interest.

When it came to the stockings, I needed something new, and I knew just where to look. Wayfair has a HUGE selection of beautiful holiday pieces! I bought these stockings a few weeks ago and was itching to get them up on the mantel right away.

Decorating the mantel doesn’t stop at the mantel. I also like to fill the surrounding floor with child-friendly decor.

I made the tall sign myself and I’m SO in love with it. It adds the perfect height to the space, and bonus – it has proven to withstand toddler treatment.

  1. Looks really pretty Lindi. My husband was the same way. He didn’t want to see any Christmas decor till December 1st. This year I finally convinced him but we have been so busy I’m still decorating.

  2. Wow! Love the simplicity of it, turned out stunning. Do you have a tutorial for the wood sign? I think that may be my favorite part ofof the mantle.

    1. It’s definitely my favourite part too! I will be sharing the tutorial in the coming weeks hopefully! If you signed up for the e-mails you should see the post soon – or you can just check back in :)

  3. I really love your mantle decoration . I have a very silimar mantle but it’s covered with a TV stand and TV because I have nowhere else to place my TV :( I would absolutely do the same decoration only if I could mount the TV above the fireplace. Great job!

  4. I LOVE the fireplace and mantle with the stone all the way to the ceiling! That looks like an electric fireplace since I don’t see a chimney….did you purchase the fireplace with that stone around it and add to it to continue it to the ceiling? I would love to do something similar with my house so any details or tips would be really helpful!

    1. Thank you so much! That fireplace was already in place when we bought that home, so I can’t tell you what they did, but it was a gas fireplace and the cultured stone was added around it. It extended out from the house on the outside. Hope that helps a bit!

  5. Love this look! I have the same fireplace stone and mantel but mine has never looked this great. How did you attach the garland and the stockings to the stone mantel?
