A beautiful, cozy home tour of seasonal decor. Love the warm and inviting decor ideas for autumn!

Welcome everyone! Come on in and see our beautiful rustic fall decor! Today, I’m joining the DIY Mommy, and an amazing group of Canadian bloggers to show off our autumn homes. I decorate for almost every season, but fall is my absolute favourite time of year, and I never miss a chance to decorate. This year I’m sharing some of my rustic fall decorating ideas and I know you’ll love our cozy home.

Rustic Fall Decorating Ideas in the Living Room

The first thing you will see when you pop into my home is our living room! I LOVE the high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling fireplace in this room. It is always the first room I decorate because it is the most used space. We get to stare at these pretty decorations the most. I went along with the theme that our stone fireplace was giving off, and created a beautiful rustic space.

Fall is all about adding warmth to your space, so we’ve filled our traditional rustic leather sofa with textiles and pillows.

Pillows and small table decor can do wonders for a cozy fall decor feel

The throw blankets in this space are some our coziest! The deer pillow is perfect for fall. I love the subtle pops of colour and the cottage vibes they give off – perfect rustic decorating idea. You can find the tutorial for those no-sew deer pillows on YouTube right now!

Blankets and slippers and shag carpets are the way to go for the fall season

I don’t know about you, but as soon as the cool weather arrives, our slippers come out! Warm feet is a must when it comes to our cool autumn weather!

Fun, autumn pillows really add to the custom home decor

I picked up this autumn pillow once and just loved it immediately! Am I crazy, or is there something about just reading the word “autumn” that makes the space feel comfier? lol.

Our DIY Coffee Table (with free build plans!), is one of the focal points in this room, but with a toddler and an always-climbing-baby, the decor on the tables must stay simple and child-friendly.

I often try to create cute little vignettes with rustic trays, candles, and decor, but this year I opted for a few small plastic pumpkins that can be picked up and moved by little hands, without mommy needing to worry!

Pumpkins with colour variations are a great way to liven up your fall decor

The cute mason jar lid pumpkin is one that I made last year, and I still love it! It adds a little bit of colour and fun to the space.

Then comes the fireplace and all of it’s beautiful rustic elements!

Using the fire place as a central point for some fall decor is a great idea

Again, I kept the floor decor child-friendly. The “Autumn” sign is my absolute favourite piece right now. I made it to add height to the fireplace decor, and I’m SO glad I did. Here is the tutorial!

I hand painted a couple of pumpkins to match the sign and pull the colours together. Then I added a basket that I had lying around to help balance out the space.

As we continue up to our rustic mantle, we come across the “hello” sign (another easy DIY project) and the cute little white yarn pumpkins. I love these little guys and the texture they add to the mantle. I take them out every year and use them somewhere in our decor!

On the way out of the living room, you will find my DIY Command Center. I just added a little fall to the chalkboard and placed a couple of owls underneath.

You don’t have to add much to a space for it to feel seasonal. These subtle touches do a lot of talking!

Rustic Fall Decorating Ideas in the Kitchen

Moving into the kitchen, there are a few more simple autumn ideas.

A fall-themed kitchen table adds that special touch to family dinners

My kitchen is all set up for a beautiful fall dinner—including my copper centerpieces! I love hosting thanksgiving and will definitely pull out some of these table setting ideas when I’m getting ready for family to visit.

The kitchen counters got a bit of festive decor too. Starting with filling my DIY copper wine rack with fall flavours!

The pasta, corn, and quinoa was actually all items that I already had in our pantry! But I used the opportunity to display this fall coloured foods on the counter during the autumn season in these cute little containers.

Autumn Decor in Master Bedroom

The fall themes continue into the master bedroom. There aren’t a lot of people that see our bedroom decorated for fall, but I still love doing it. I read my books up in here and enjoy how cozy it feels.

A food tray is a great place to add some fall-themed finishing touches

When I’m relaxing in my bedroom, I use a simple rustic tray like this one. I take some faux florals from the table, add a glass or water (or tea in the evening!), and add some books or magazines.

Somehow a few of those cute yarn pumpkins also migrated to our bedroom! They look good just about anywhere! lol.

There can never be too many crochet pumpkins

Across from our bed sits this lovely corner fireplace, for which we built our own wooden mantel.

How to Make Your Own Wood Mantle

Just like downstairs, my mantle is my favourite spot to decorate. It’s a nice big space to fill up with fun fall pieces! I decided to stick with browns and greens so that it would flow nicely with the rest of the decor in the room.

      1. What is the color stain is your mantel? i have one just like that and it is in a light oak and i want to change it

      1. do you know what color/brand the fireplace stone is? I love it and we are about to redo our fireplace, would like something like you have, its so nice!

          1. No, I never found out! But we are currently looking at new stone for our upstairs fireplace and I’m sure the brand will be similar! I can try to post a link here once I post it!

          1. No :( Unfortunately we’ve tried to find the source but we’ve never had any luck. I hope you’re able to find what you’re looking for!

          2. We are looking for ideas and are wanting to redo our fireplace almost exactly like you have in your home. I know you didn’t install it but I was wondering if you could send me close up pictures of the outside of the stacked rock by the wall, inside edge of the TV hole and fireplace hole? I would really appreciate it because this is the only example I have seen that is just like our project. These are the areas we are concerned the project will look right doing it ourselves. Do you know if the stacked stone was put on cement board? Thank you so much for posting your pictures, your house is beautiful!

          3. Thank you so much! Unfortunately I don’t have a picture like that and we no longer live in this beautiful home! We did do our own stacked stone in our bedroom and we used cement board there. You can see some pictures here:

  1. Oh my, how fortunate you are to have a fireplace in your bedroom. I bet it’s so cozy! I have to ask where you found those moscow mule mugs. I’ve been on the hunt for hammered copper ones like those that don’t cost a small fortune.

    1. Do you have a Bed Bath and Beyond near you? They always have coupons in the mail or online. You can get real copper mugs $$$ or plated.

  2. Oh Lindi, your home is just beautiful! I love how you’ve managed to keep your space child friendly and completely gorgeous at the same time amazing balancing act and you’ve done it beautifully! I love all of your copper touches!

  4. Your home looks great and so pretty for Fall. Love the copper ‘wreath’ on the front door. The pretty pillows (the deer heads oh my!) and cozy throws are the perfect touches too. As a Canadian blogger, I always look forward to these seasonal home tours and thank you for sharing yours.

  5. Lindi! It’s fantastic! I’m so jealous that you have not one, but TWO mantels to decorate!! That’s a dream to me! All your copper accents and DIYs?!? swoon! And I love that awesome command center! I know the feeling about noting the start of “daddy’s nightshift” though. Eek!

    1. I’m so sorry! I didn’t get a chance to post it last fall! Good news is that I dug up all my photos for this sign the other day and I’m working on editing it! The tutorial for this should be up in a couple of weeks! Sorry that you had to wait so long! I hope you are able to make it!

  6. Hi! I LOVE your fireplace in the living area!! We’re about o redo ours and need that stone/color!! Did you ever manage to dig up those details anywhere?

    1. No, I’m sorry! I tried looking for some other readers too! But the brick was there before we moved in and I can’t seem to find the name or brand anywhere. Good luck with your search!

    2. I love that stone too! I’ve been searching everywhere for something similar. Have you been successful in your search?
