If you haven’t noticed yet, there is a theme running through my Christmas decor this year. Red, gold, and burlap items are ALL over my home right now :)
This centerpiece is no exception to that theme.
I LOVE dressing up the table for Christmas, and adding my own flare to the holiday decor each year. Plus, a centrepiece is a GREAT way to add flare and beauty to your dining area :)
Materials:
Large Vintage Crate
Burlap
3 32oz. Mason Jars
5″ thick Burlap Ribbon
Assorted Greenery
3 candles
I started by placing a piece of burlap on the inside of the centrepiece. I wrapped the burlap around the edges so that it slumped over about 5 inches on each side. I also put a small cardboard box underneath the burlap for the mason jars to sit in when I was ready for them :)
To get the “bunched-up” look of the burlap, I simply grabbed one of the width threads (i.e. not a thread going lengthwise) about 5 inches from the end of the burlap. I pulled that thread. As you pull it, it will naturally bunch up the remaining burlap. After the thread is pulled tight all the way through, you simply tie it off, and cut the excess string.
Next, I wrapped two mason jars in a thick printed burlap ribbon. I simply cut them to approx the correct length, wrapped them around, and stapled them into place :)
Then of course, I placed candles inside of the mason jars to light up the table during dinner!
Finally, I filled all of the outer edges of the crate with evergreen twigs, and some beautiful faux berry twigs that I found, that already had the gold glitter on the leaves! Perfect!
The combination of the two types of greenery really makes the piece look beautiful and unique.
Can’t wait to host an amazing Christmas dinner now!
I’m getting hungry just thinking about it :)
This centrepiece sat PERFECTLY on the beautiful burlap & yarn table runner that I showed off earlier this week :)
Stay tuned for 5 more days of Christmas crafts!!
