Loving August:

Sharing all of the reasons we are loving August! Including a baby update, a family update, and some renovation plans!

I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready for back-to-school yet! Those commercials are hitting the television already, you know the ones with the parents jumping up and down to get their kids out the door? Yes, my kiddos thrive on routine. Yes, they love school. But I’m not ready! I’ve been enjoying a summer without driving to and from school everyday, I’ve enjoyed having them to myself (most days), and I’m not sure if I’m ready to start juggling three different child routines!  Here’s how we’ve been loving August (and our last month of summer vacation):

Loving: All of the above ^^^

Creating: A new fall wreath! If you enjoy seasonal wreaths as much as I do, I can’t wait to show you my new ideas! Here’s the fall wreath I made last year:

A cheap fall decor idea! Use an embroidery hoop to make a beautiful fall wreath! The perfect fall decoration idea. And you can make the entire piece in less than 20 minutes! Love the modern look of this fall DIY project :)

Celebrating: A three month old baby boy! Wade is a whooping 16lbs already! I never thought I’d say that I enjoy changing diapers, but this boy is SO HAPPY on a change table! He never smiles more! Even my husband will admit that he enjoys the changes (although he might only admit it to me…. lol). He’s still loving his fans, and getting overwhelmed by his sisters. He smiles more than any baby I’ve met and loves his late night conversations with mommy. He has finally been giving his mama a bit more sleep, but I still wake up in the middle of the night to check that he’s breathing! We’re loving our big boy!

Reading: I wish I was reading…. we’ve been so crazy busy building a deck, and tackling some other summer projects that I’ve barely opened a book. I’d love your reading suggestions if you have any!

Writing: All of the tutorials for our Modern Entry! I only have one left to go but If you missed any…

Watching:Ok, we watched Mad Men for about 5 episodes. I don’t get it. At first I thought it was great, but there is just so. much. cheating. Every character was cheating on someone! I couldn’t watch it anymore! Someone explain the hype??

Instead we are watching Explained on Netflix and it’s fascinating! Go watch it!

Needing: Your vote!! I’ve been nominated for the Best Written Blog award by the Amara Interior Blog Awards and I need your votes to win! VOTE HERE !

Learning: That hard work pays off! Did you see our feature in Apartment Therapy this month?? Find it here!

Planning: A bathroom renovation for the fall (YAY!!!!). We are debating a few different layouts, and I’m debating sharing those layouts on the blog, would you want to see them??

Wearing: All the bugspray.

Coveting: A simple nightstand like THIS ONE. I wish we had gone with something a little bit more minimalistic when I chose ours.

What’s Working for Me Right Now: My girls as best friends. They are less then two years apart in age and they love each other! They play so nicely together. They also get mischievous and sneaky together… but let’s focus on the positive :)

What’s Not: The loss of my puppy. I picked this guy out as a puppy, he travelled with me across Canada to my new home, he came out for photos on our wedding day, and he snuggled with all three of my babies. I was so sad to lose him this month and still call him every other day or expect to see him. RIP puppy.

Anticipating: A busy back-to-school fall!

I’d LOVE to hear what you are loving! What’s new and exciting?!

I'm loving the weather right now, sunny and windy. And, of course, I'm loving this post of yours. Sorry to hear about your puppy, though.
