When I think of Spring, I think of blues and greens and wood tones. The grass is starting to grow, the water is starting to flow (rhyme not intended), and the trees are coming alive again. So when I saw navy tablecloths, I had to scoop them up for this fun “Year of Feasting” series. Dannyelle from Life is a Party, had the greatest idea – to share some of our real-life parties with all of you. So I bought some supplies, made some food, and hosted a ladies night!
Who needs a night out more then a group of busy mamas?! I invited some of my friends over, for tapas, wine, and grown-up conversation (although I’m pretty sure it still veered towards children a few too many times…lol).
The simple navy tablecloths set the tone for an earthy table. Then I pulled out a beautiful soft pink floral runner that my cousin made for me as a wedding gift.
The rest of the table setting just fell into place. From the DIY wooden chargers…
… to the spring centerpiece, with the MOST affordable candlesticks you’ll ever buy….
… to the mini concrete planter place settings (tutorial coming soon!).
And then there was food! I found two great unexpected decor pieces that made me decide to serve tapas: storage basket and some plastic pots.
I used the storage basket to hold dips, buy propping up a couple of bowls inside.
Then I used the flower pots to display all of the carbs, lol. I just put a bowl on top and it instantly added height to my serving station!
I used some napkins that matched my runner, some outdoor lanterns and some flowers to decorate the rest of the island.
The thing about having a group of friends over, is that I never stop to take pictures! This is the only picture of us, deep in conversation, lol. I had so much fun getting ready for this, but even more fun chatting with these ladies all night! I’m a hostess at my core :)
