Failure is something I’m used to. As a DIY blogger. I try projects that bomb all the time. Sometimes I still try photographing projects, that I know in my mind are failures. Just trying to salvage some of my wasted time, hoping that it’s not actually a flop. I could even get as far as photo editing before I decide to let it go… lol. But I keep trying. The DIYer in me, makes me want to try new things and experiment with my creativity all the time! I’m telling you this, because I totally thought these abstract Spring pillows would be a flop. As I prepared to make them, I told myself it would be ok if the pillow covers I paid for ended up in the garbage, and the paint didn’t cost much anyway… haha. To my surprise, I LOVED them. Probably my favourite Spring project yet!
If you are intimidated by painting projects (like I was)– don’t be! You can watch and follow exactly what I did. I promise you can do it!
Materials:
I set-up my pillow cases by putting cardboard pieces inside of them to prevent the paint from bleeding through.
Once the pillow cases were ready, I poured out some paint and went to work painting my pillows. You can see the whole process in the video here:

If you missed the beautiful Spring Home Tour I shared last week, make sure you pop over there to see how I used these pillows in action!
These are so pretty and fresh! I love blue and green together
Thank you!! I was honestly a bit hesitant to use blue, cause I thought it might be too dark for Spring, but I really love how the colours turned out :)
These turned out so beautiful! I’ve always been intimidated to try paining pillows but you’ve inspired me!
You should! These were SO fun to make. I was super intimidated too, but it was really fun :)
Wow! I had no idea that that kind of paint could be used on fabric, and would stay nice through laundering. I am super excited to try it. Thank you for this easy and great idea.
Where did you get your pillow cases?
From Amazon :) I’ll add a link within the post!
