It’s officially here! My first holiday post of the year, and I couldn’t be happier about it! When Cricut first came out with the Cricut Machine, I wrote this post about the new cutting machine and I was soooo excited for the knife blade to come out! This was my first chance to use the new blade, while making a couple of holiday projects, and it did not disappoint. I’m going to show you how to cut wood with a Cricut Machine. If you don’t already have a Cricut Machine, you might want one after this post! lol.

If you’ve never heard of a Cricut, the Cricut Maker is essentially a cutting machine (like a mini CNC) that cuts tons of different materials. The Maker is the most versatile of these machines because of its new blades that allow it to effortlessly cut fabric, balsa wood, chipboard, leather, etc.

But wood. WOOD! That was the most exciting part. I have a ton of DIYs brewing in my mind that I can’t wait to use the Cricut Maker for; but first, I wanted to demonstrate how to cut wood on the Cricut Maker by creating a couple of quick and easy holiday projects.

Wood to be cut by the Cricut Maker and the blade attachment.

I am constantly adding wood pieces to my rooms when I’m decorating. Why not start making my own? Now that I know how easily the Cricut Maker cuts wood, my head is spinning with ideas. I loved how these simple holiday projects turned out.

How do you get the template for the tree ornament? I have tried the link so many times and it just opens design space with nothing there. Was hoping I could make some this year :)
