If I told you I had four bins of fall home decor in storage would you believe me? It’s true! Fall is easily my favourite season. Sweaters out, but not puffy Michelin man coats yet. Leaves are falling, but the wind isn’t freezing my eyes shut. This was my first time decorating for fall at Green Acres and I asked Russel very nicely to pull out all my bins (like I usually do), but when it actually came time to decorate, there were only a few items I really wanted to put out. I’m practicing a much more minimalist approach to seasonal decorating this year! Today I’m sharing my living room with you, and then sharing beautiful homes from other Canadian bloggers all week! See all of the inspiration at the bottom of the post!
This is our living room. After I realized I didn’t really want to make big changes in here for the season, I decided to add one main colour: yellow. And then stick with my usual blacks and whites.
The black and white pumpkins were ones that I painted last year, as I was making these modern pumpkin designs.
The “Hello Fall” pillow was my only fall DIY edition this year.
Changing out a few throw pillow and blankets for the cozier fall colours and textures was all I needed to do to transform the room.
The little pumpkins were painted last year when I shared these place settings for fall. I think it works perfectly as a centerpiece too!
Even my side table got a minimalist makeover. Just a few black and white accessories. The little house is a wooden piece that I bought at the dollar store and painted black.
That’s all there is to it this year! Until next week, when I share my kitchen and dining room as part of another great home tour!
Now it’s time for the rest of that beautiful inspiration I was talking about!
